Art Activities
Salt Art
Salt art connects to erosion because water travels easily through salt.
Watercolor Salt Art
Paint with watercolor, then sprinkle salt on top and let it sit while it dries.
Glue and Watercolor Salt Art
Draw a line of white glue and sprinkle salt on it. Add dots of watercolor paint on top and watch the color move and spread.
Sponge Painting
This mimics erosion — you pick up paint and move it, depositing it on the paper. Students can paint a picture or just paint freely.
Marble Art
Put drops of tempera paint inside a cardboard box or deep tray. Place a sheet of paper and some marbles inside. Shake the box so the marbles move the paint around the paper.
